A Study of the Faking-Good Response Set on the MMPI


Abstract
The present study attempted to detect the difference between the normal group and schizophreic patient group, in faking-good attitude in MMPI responses. Four hundred thirty nine subjects nine subjects were selected the MMPI. The results of 329
normal
group were compared to 110 schizophrenic patients.
The result reveals the normal group did more faking-good than the schizophrenic group but not significant statistically. On the other hand when L equals or excells 9, K equals excells 17 and F-K is less than -11, the two groups showed a great
difference
among the clinical scales, that is, the acale of psychopthic deviates at the significant level P<.05, the scales of psychasthenia, schizophrenia and social introversion at the significant level P<.001, It is recommended that the clinical scales
should
be used in diagnosing neuropsychiatric diseases.
